I'll overwhelm 'credible boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be streamed live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the pair came face-to-face to publicize next month's bout.

Former two time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Fighter's Mindset

"I will injure his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of these statements, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally famous for his theatrics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British rival Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer stated.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

However, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, consistently making substantial earnings.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently under discussion for two years from now.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As the two fighters met for the traditional confrontation, with their size difference on show, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is truly happening.
