Automobiles in Germany's Town Found Covered with Swastikas in Human Blood, Police Report

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Police stated they were notified by a individual who found a car in Hanau covered with reddish fluid

Approximately fifty automobiles have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to police.

Automobiles, building surfaces and postboxes were marked, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they reported in a release.

Law enforcement report they were notified during the night on Wednesday, when a man observed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish fluid.

The liquid had been placed in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they stated.

Officers then found multiple other vandalized vehicles and residential walls in the surrounding area.

Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws prohibiting the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement state initial examinations suggest the substance was most likely blood from a person.

"There is still no clue as to where it came from; investigators are currently not aware of any injuries in connection with the event," they added.

Local authorities stated they were working "to resolve the mystery" and have requested to the community for details.

A high-ranking representative said the vandalism rendered him without words and had to be solved rapidly.

"This event affects the very heart of Hanau and revives the wounds of the far-right violent incident half a decade ago," he posted on online, referring to the death of nine people by a assailant focusing on individuals of migrant background in 2020.
